Welcome to California Youth Climate Leaders!
(Acronym "CYCL"- pronounced "cycle")
We are a youth led organization that fights climate change through environmental leadership and climate action.
Our Mission
Our goal is to get youth involved in the journey towards becoming completely carbon free. We want to educate and inform people about the importance of combating climate change through sustainable alternatives and processes. This includes everything from community service projects, to climate education, to government action.
We believe in the power of young voices and youth action. Through this organization, we use our voices to show others how they can create a future that is in harmony with our Earth, not only for us, but for the generations after.
Who can join?
Any student from San Marin High School can join!

How did we start?
Our founder was a high school freshman who felt frustrated that she was not old enough or powerful enough to "create change". She saw the articles that said we had only 7 years until the effects of climate change were irreversible. She knew that her generation did not have the luxury to wait until they were adults to combat climate change, they had to do something now. So, she decided to start CYCL.
She wanted CYCL to be a different kind of environmental club, a place where students got involved through activism along with service projects. She hopes that CYCL can become an outlet for students to express their environmental concerns and take action, being inspired to continue climate activism for many years to come.
