Our Founder and President

Noela De Frenza is a high school student in Marin County, California. When she saw other young people around the world taking action by creating their own clubs and going on strike for the climate, she felt it was important that she did the same. 

She started California Youth Climate Leaders as a way for high school students to get involved through activism and service projects. She wanted the club to be a place where students are not afraid to voice their ideas and opinions to local and state government officials, organize and lead their own environmental projects, and most importantly see how their actions can have immense impacts.
